Information for Delegates- Getting
to the Gold Coast
GIW2008
will be held at the Marriott Surfers Paradise Resort and Spa
on Queensland's Gold Coast. This is an easy drive from Brisbane
or Coolangatta, and is renowned as a holiday and tourist destination.

FROM
BRISBANE AIRPORT
For international and interstate visitors arriving at Brisbane
Airport, the options for travelling to the Gold Coast are via
coach, taxi or airtrain. The journey takes approximately 75
minutes.
Driving
Directions
From Brisbane Airport follow the signs for the Gold Coast on
the Gateway Arterial Motorway. Take
the South East Freeway (M1) exit to the Gold Coast. Exit at
Southport via Smith St and follow the signs for Surfers Paradise.
Turn right at the Gold Coast Highway intersection and after
approximately 4 km turn right at Palm Avenue and then right
into Ferny Avenue.The resort is approximately 500m on the left
hand side.

Airtrain
The Airtrain service leaves from Brisbane Airport every half
hour throughout the day between 6.00am and 9.30pm for Robina
Station, Gold Coast.
With two
express trains each hour direct to the Gold Coast, Airtrain
is the most reliable and frequent option to reach the Gold Coast
from Brisbane Airport.
The Airtrain
stops at 3 stations on the Gold Coast: Nerang, Robina and Helensvale
- the best station for your transport to the GIW2008 conference
is Nerang.

travelling from the Airport to the Gold Coast and know the station

Airtrain
Connect - New Limousine Service
AirtrainConnect is the premium service for getting passengers
from the Brisbane Airport to the door of their Gold Coast destination.
The AirtrainConnect
service involves a train ride to a Gold Coast station, and then
a chauffered transfer to your accommodation or place of business.
When you arrive at he Gold Coast station your driver will be
waiting with your name on a sign to drive you the rest of the
way.
This service
is available to be booked 24 hours a day. If your arrival into
Brisbane Airport is outside train operating hours (6:00am -
7:30pm), we can secure a coach transfer for you at the same
rate as a normal AirtrainConnect. Bookings for the AirtrainConnect
service that are outside of the hours need to be made at least
48 hours in advance. Bookings that start at the Gold Coast need
to be made at least 6 hours in advance.
A
